Assistant Manager of Flight Standards

Purpose: 

The purpose of this position is to assist the Manager of Flight Standards in developing and administering a program that provides the highest level of training and standardization to ATI flight crewmembers.  Additionally, this position is responsible for the safety, legality and efficiency of all flight operations training programs.

Job Functions:

  • Develop flight crew procedures from data collection sources, industry trends and daily operational feedback.
  • Maintain and revise ATI MELs in accordance with MMEL revisions.  Review ATI “O” and “M” procedures for human factors for safety, compliance and airline operating efficiency and express operations.  Streamline applicable “O” procedures to enhance Flight Crew efficiency.  Attend MMEL industry group meetings and FOEB meetings.
  • Develop and maintain FCOM and QRH manuals for fleet commonality/consolidation, cross-fleet standardization, safety, compliance, airline efficiency and express operations.
  • Develop and maintain Check Airman standardization program/procedures to include “Flight Standards designated Check Airman” (SCKA).
  • Attend Industry operator and manufacturer meetings.
  • Performing the duties and functions of check pilot and/or training instructor.
  • Revise flight crew operating manual in accordance with Boeing revisions, FAA documentation, industry trends/changes and company collected data
  • Develop and maintain SOP material for flight crew operating manuals.  Work with SCKA in auditing/enforcing SOP
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Complete understanding of all regulatory requirements contained within 14 CFR part 121, Subpart N and O.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • 5 years of experience as a Captain operating a turbine jet aircraft
  • Air Transport Pilot (ATP) rating.    

Preferred Job Skills:

  • College degree preferred.  Experienced in part 121 line operations requiring multi-crew large aircraft.
  • Experienced in part 121 instruction & pilot checking.
  • Experienced in the development and administration of part 121 AQP.
  • B757/B767 Type Rating

Physical Requirements:

  • Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Comply with ATI attendance requirements
